High Speed Motorsports Kicks
off Northwest Swing
Anaheim, CA 07.25.07: Highspeed Motorsports will kick off
a 3 race northwest series beginning at Firebird Raceway in Boise
Idaho on August 10th. The 36th annual Nightfire Nationals will
feature a full 16 car field of front engine top fuel cars competing
at this prestigious event. "The Nightfire Nationals at Boise
is such an incredible event." said driver Troy Green. "For
over three decades the New family has done an incredible job
of promoting and putting on this event. And for the first time,
the 2007 Nightfire has become one of five AA/FD Points Series
races so not only it is a very fun race, but now it is a very
important race for us and all other teams chasing the championship."
The following weekend will start
off Thursday afternoon (08-16) in Preston, Washington, home of
Silverthin Bearings, a major sponsor on the Highspeed Motorsports
top fuel dragster. Silverthin Bearings will host an open house
where the Highspeed Motorsports dragster, team and driver Troy
Green will be on hand for autographs and photos.
Saturday night, August 18th Highspeed
Motorsports will be at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington for
a four car Top Fuel match race.
The Team will then head north
to Mission, BC Canada for the third and final stop on the tour.
On August 25-26 Mission Raceway will host an 8 car field of nostalgia
top fuel dragsters competing for valuable AAFD points and a nice
purse.
"We believe this is the
first time any Nostalgia Top Fuel team has raced, away from home,
three weeks in a row. We are excited about and looking forward
to this challenge." said Brett Johansen, Crew chief. "The
guys have been putting in some long hours preparing the car,
parts and trailer for this journey. We have also been building
on inventory depth to insure our success at these very important
races. We really need to make up some ground in the points chase
and this will be the time to do it!"
If you plan on attending one
of these races, please stop by the Highspeed Motorsports pit
and say hi. They will have new driver handouts and replenished
stock of t-shirts and hats so be sure to check those out as well.
Boise will also mark the debut of the new High Speed
Motorsports Team Hospitality Coach.
